It’s been a positive start to 2010 at ESG. The investment we made last year in research, testing and product development has clearly been paying off with record enquiries in the first few months of the year.

We’ve also formed some new strategic partnerships, most notably with Polytronix Inc and Polytron Technologies Co Ltd, which has put us at the forefront of glass technology, and enabled us to create a whole new ESG Visionary product range, and also with Schott.

We’ve also unveiled our first bullet resistant range, ESG Ballistic, and added another product to our ESG Secure range. As a result of all this, we now have a portfolio which, for those who have known us from our early days, is almost unrecognisable from the one we had just three years ago. And as you can see, unlike many other businesses, we’ve recently appointed some new members staff, and are about to open a new production unit. You can see why we’re feeling optimistic.

ESG partner with Schott

ESG has entered into a new partnership with world glass expert Schott, to provide the acclaimed Schott PYRANOVA® fire resistant safety glass, allowing ESG to offer insulation as well as integrity in an even wider range of fire resistant glass solutions. PYRANOVA® can be butt jointed; giving architects and designers the freedom to construct runs of glass without the need for obtrusive framework, which can destroy the aesthetic appeal and openness of office spaces. This makes it a great option for partitioning installers.

Traditional fire rated glazing is usually associated with obtrusive mullion and transom constructions which detract from the natural transparency of glass. As a result, architects and designers normally have to compromise their designs where fire protection is necessary. This has now been resolved by the use of the fire resistant butt joint system, which has been successfully tested to provide 60 minutes integrity, so that the fire resistance of the glass can be maintained. Large panes of glass of up to three metres high can be joined by a minimal intumescent joint to allow architects and designers the freedom to construct unlimited runs of glass.
